A Poem Prayer for Our Health Care Workers

Healing Hands

At every turn,

In the quiet of the night,

At break of the day

In the solstice of the afternoon….

Caring gently over those who

Cannot speak, so weak….

A thank you rests upon an eye

Or in fragile squeeze of hand

Wrapped in glove,

If one be had….

There are not words enough,

To bear thanks to heav’n above

For gifts of healing

You now share

With those who cross the threshold

Of your place of care

Not knowing who will be

By their side in days ahead

Till once again

They draw a breath with

Full and healthy lungs….

You risk life and limb

For those you do not know,

Yet hold so gently

In the palm of hand.

May bands of angels

Join your work

To hold you steady in days ahead.

For in your face, we see,

And from your touch,

We know

Radiant, unconditional love.

Blessed and safe, please be

For in your face,

For in your hands

We feel and know

God’s  embrace…

Healing love…

United in

One.
